Assessment Services
Assessment plays a pivotal role in the effective implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment.
Following our intake process and insurance authorization to assess your child, we begin the ABA assessment process. This involves a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s behavior, communication skills, and other relevant factors. This process includes direct observation of your child in their natural environments, interviews with the child’s parents and/or caregivers, and the use of standardized assessment tools to gather valuable data about your child’s abilities. Through careful analysis of the assessment results, our behavior analysts work with you to identify the specific behaviors that need to be addressed and formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of your child.
The assessment process ends with an individualized report written to describe the assessment procedure and findings, which will be reviewed with you. This report will dictate whether ABA is recommended and the intensity of services that are recommended. This report will summarize your child’s strengths and needs as well as any interfering maladaptive behaviors and the behavior intervention plan to address those behaviors once treatment begins. Further, the report will include the agreed upon goals that will be addressed during the treatment period.
In essence, the assessment process in ABA treatment serves as a dynamic tool for capturing who your child is, what their needs are, and includes our initial plan to support your child and family in achieving their goals.
